“Democracy Denied The Untold Story” is a history of democracy in the United States prior to the signing of the Constitution. It blows the whistle on two hundred years of myth and mystification.

During the seven-year war with England, the Continental Congress was the American government. The Articles of Confederation were its founding document and the basis for its political, diplomatic, military, and economic authority, both domestically and internationally. The Continental Congress organized the country and won the war against Britain. Why then, having proved itself, was this government abandoned? Why were the Articles of Confederation scrapped?

The Constitutional Convention of 1787 was conducted under the darkest secrecy. Benjamin Franklin was supplied with a chaperone, lest he speak too freely after a few glasses of wine. Rhode Island refused to participate, suspecting that the organizers were up to no good. Patrick Henry of Virginia “smelt a rat in Philadelphia, tending toward the monarchy.”

At the outset of their respective state conventions, seven states, that is to say a majority, were against ratification of the Constitution. When Pennsylvania delegates to their state convention left in protest, denying the majority a quorum, officers “broke into their lodgings… dragged them through the streets … and thrust them into the assembly room, with clothes torn and faces white with rage.”

Was there a cabal? Was there a coup? If so, why? Read this democracy thriller and find out.

"Democracy Denied The Untold Story" is Part II of a larger work by this author entitled, "Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained The True Meaning of Democracy," which Ralph Nader has referred to as, “An eye-opening, earth-shaking book … a fresh, torrential shower of revealing insights and vibrant lessons…” Vandana Shiva, environmentalist and author of "Earth Democracy," Michael Parenti, political scientist and author of "The Assassination of Julius Caesar," Joshua Miller, Professor at Lafayette College and author of "The Rise and Fall of Democracy in Early America, 1630 – 1789" have all endorsed "Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained." The reader of "Democracy Denied" will undoubtedly want to explore the larger work as well.

It's really difficult to express just how important this work is to an understanding of the modern world. The real problem with a book like this is that most people simply aren't ready to read it. I would imagine that a staunch "patriot" who affiliates themselves with the modern political system will either not believe the content or disregard it as a misinterpretation of history. By the time I had found this book, my notes on the subject were extensive enough that I was coming to the same conclusions presented here and was contemplating how it may be made into a book. I had a smile on my face the whole time I read this. Mr. Robbins confirmed the conclusions I had come to in my studies and in a simple logical format. After reading the Federalist Vs. Anti Federalist papers, reading the biographies the people involved, and learning about central banking and its influence in politics from the present day all the way back through the Civil War etc, it became quite obvious that something was going on here that didn't jive with the public school narrative of America's founding; particularly the years after the war leading to the ratification of the Constitution. Another reviewer basically called Mr. Robbins a conspiracy theorist. G. Edward Griffin author of "The Creature from Jekyll Island" is quoted as saying, "If you don't believe in conspiracies, you've never read a history book." Well, I've read my fair share of history and he is absolutely correct. If the actual thoughts and actions of the people involved in an event, such as those in this book, leads you to an understanding that happens to parallel the definition of conspiracy, then so be it. We have the word for a reason. All you have to do to prove Mr. Robbins point is to look at what has transpired since we lost the Articles of Confederation. We've seen the explosion of state power resulting in the largest most indebted government that has ever existed. That's no accident. The Constitution is good in theory if representatives are virtuous, but virtuous men need not be insulated from the people via bicameral legislatures. Virtuous men render checks and balances redundant. So the framework of the Constitution acts most effectively to protect the ones who are not. The separation of church and state dissected Christian moral doctrine out of government and replaced it with the marriage of state and finance. They've been dancing with the devil as it were ever since. Anyway, thank you Mr. Robbins for writing this book. This was one of the most enjoyable and enlightening reads I've ever had.

Democracy Denied The Untold Story eBook Arthur D Robbins Reviews

Dr. Robbin's book is a mother load of unknown or forgotten facts about the meaning and history of democracy throughout civilization, or should I say quasi civilztion. I wish I had known about it when I wrote The Devil's Marriage. America's youth should be required to read this book, but of course our anti democracy government and schools will have nothing of it. They want to keep the public from birth onward uninformed and propagandized.
A thinly veiled political screed of oddly specious libertarian reasoning. Author Arthur D. Robins flails at representative government of the republican form wishing instead for true democracy of the type espoused by his heroes the anti-Federalists who's leaders, to a man, were as wealthy and elete as the Federalists he decries for the same reasons. (e.g. Melancton Smith, Richard Henry Lee, Robert Yates, George Clinton, etc.)

With not a 'blush' toward objectivity, Robbins writes (locn. 832) "In an effort to restore the true meaning to these important words, when I use the word "Federalist" I will attach the word "oligarchs" in parentheses. When I use the word "Anti-Federalist" I will attach the word "democrats" in parentheses." And the rest follows as expected...some examples

"Madison wanted a government structured to stifle the popular voice and leave the power in the hands of a small oligarchy who could use government to service its own personal needs." (Location 1497)

"In other words, those who were involved in shaping the Constitution might have been open to the use of armed violence as a means of securing their own ends." (Location 1564)

"Some" [unnamed of course] had been opponents to the independence of the United States" (ibid, 203). This is an important revelation. What it means is that there were loyalists involved in drafting the U.S. Constitution who might have used their influence to satisfy the wishes of the defeated enemy, Great Britain. Were this so, it indeed would have been grounds for secrecy." (Location 1567)

"I think it can reasonably be argued that the U.S. Constitution has very little that is democratic about it, either in its content or in its coming into being. It was carefully constructed to ensure concentration of power in the hands of a few, and it has succeeded in achieving that end without interruption since it was put in place. The United States is an oligarchy by intent." (Location 2560)

The history to be found in this volume is only that which Robbins very selectively culls (and haphazardly cites) when it meshes with his conclusion of historical conspiracy. Much of the government that Robbins pines for - we had for a decade under the Articles of Confederation, which proved to be a disaster for reasons Robbins leaves unexplored. 'History' in this offering is not examined dispassionatly to yield insight, rather it is carefully filtered to find only evidence that weaves into a preconceived conclusion. It is an interesting (convoluted) perspective literally based on conspiracy, a word used 20 times in ~200 pages. The book would be more accurately categorized as political opinion, or historical fiction in the style of, "The da Vinci Code".
Every person in all 50 States needs to read this book. I love the insight into what really happened leading up to the signing of the Constitution. It's not surprising that the rich had as much influence then as they do now in politics. Robbins is a very easy read and gives very thorough explanations.
